Operationalizing Data and Information with Contextual Data Management

Release Information

Reltio is proud to announce the General Availability release of 2020.3. This release is focused on operationalizing data and information with contextual data management powered by machine learning and analytical capabilities.

General Availability of Reltio Connected Customer 360 2020.3 is on Wednesday, October 14, 2020.

Below are the highlights of the key features that are available in the 2020.3 release.

Certain features are released under Reltio’s Early Access (EA) program. Customers who are interested in participating in an EA program can contact their Reltio Customer Success Manager to inquire about availability.

Define a Single View of the Customer

Reltio helps define a single customer view by connecting all your customer data across all silos, bringing them together from internal/external third-party data sources. While creating the single view we must make sure that we follow the best practices to get best business results.

An important feature to get the best out of the platform is Configuration Validation. Configuration Validation will improve the stability and performance of the platform by enforcing best practices and recommendations for the data model and metadata. Reltio will continue to enhance this feature and will notify customers who need to correct the errors in their configuration to prevent future issues. This will save time needed to address issues in later stages of implementations.

Another feature in the 2020.3 release that strengthens the platform is Match Rule Analyzer. Match Rule Analyzer will monitor and track the health and effectiveness of the match rules. It provides a detailed Match Tokenizer and Comparator assessment report along with a summary of the overall match rule health. It also provides a Match Rule Correlation matrix to assess the redundancy of the configuration. This tenant management feature can be found in the Console and can be invoked on demand.

In addition, the Performance Diminishing Match Rule detection service provides another layer of monitoring and protection by proactively detecting when a match rule is not performing efficiently. We will continue to enhance this feature to ensure platform stability.

Detection of Performance-Diminishing Match Rules

In addition, Reltio continues to enhance the self-service capabilities to provide more control and self-sufficiency and shorten the time-to-value. Managing external queues and streaming is now in the Console and provides the ability to add, remove and edit external queues connection information, enable/disable streaming for external queues, as well as the ability to link from the Data Loader to stop events to external queues.

Onboard All Data, Including Transactions

Reltio Connected Customer 360 enables enterprises to on-board all the data that brings the customer profile to life, including transactions and interactions, to deliver hyper-personalized experiences.

Any data that is onboarded needs to be accurate and trusted. The new Data Validation Function provides the ability to configure data quality exceptions that evaluate the data in real-time and displays warnings on the Profile View. The warnings can be searched and exported for individual or bulk remediation.

The address cleanser now supports the duplicate handling mask feature to improve address cleansing accuracy by removing valid duplicates from the input address. The option allows the address cleanser to handle the duplicate information encountered after user input. This configurable option will check for duplicates across all levels of input data, depending on the value set in the configuration. The address components verified for duplicates include street, locality, city, state, and zip code. The values for this option are non-exclusive, hence multiple combinations are supported.

Machine learning is becoming critical for businesses to accelerate data accuracy and increase data management efficiencies. Reltio has incorporated machine learning into the platform’s match capability using Match IQ to empower data stewards to create match models that reflect the business requirements for deduplication. This capability has been enhanced so that the trained models can be leveraged on any tenant allowing the data steward to progressively improve match models throughout the implementation cycle. Match IQ also creates a precision value for the match pairs in the external match output allowing the data stewards to identify high-quality matches. Several usability improvements such as display of the model status, notification of a model status change, and a simplified publishing process are also available.

Data stewards need to know the source system's operational values and based on survivorship rules there can be one or more winner source systems. Now, the sources tab in the Profile view has a new column that identifies and displays the source system feeding operational value. To improve usability, the winner source system matches the color from the source legends. These features add to the efficiency and productivity of the data steward.

Data enrichment includes updating the DUNS number if it has been changed in D&B. However, in certain cases DUNS mismatch error was encountered and this has been fixed. Now during data enrichment, if the DUNS number is changed in D&B, the DUNS number will also get updated along with the other attribute changes in Reltio Connected Customer 360. D&B Connector will not compare the input DUNS numbers or show DUNS mismatch errors anymore. The DUNS number is directly updated as provided by D&B.

For a full 360 view of profiles, business users need to have a view of both master data and interactions history of a profile. Reltio aggregates all the interactions and transactions for a profile in a single UI. With this enhancement, users can now see all the attributes for all interaction types on the same screen. In addition, Reltio UI now remembers the selections and preferences for attributes and sorting orders.

Create Actionable Customer Insights

Reltio Connected Customer 360 provides insight-ready data to data science or analytics platforms. Users can leverage analytical insights to enhance experiences as well as continuously improve data quality. Insights can contain operational data, analytical data, as well as data used to maintain compliance.

The Activity Log Data is now available in a flattened format and in real-time and can be used to create reports or dashboard facets for audit and compliance activities.

Simplify Compliance

Reltio Connected Customer 360 simplifies compliance by making it easier to adhere to ever-evolving customer consent and privacy regulations. Reltio provides governance and accountability tools such as workflow, activity log, history, and security to address many compliance, transparency, and reporting requirements.

Workflow capabilities in RDM (Reference Data Management) enforces governance policies with the right amount of control over changes. Requestors can easily request data changes on reference data attributes which are automatically sent to the assigned approver for review and action. Workflows can also be re-assigned if needed and collaboration capabilities are also provided. This feature is available for Lookup values only (not supported for updates in Lookup Types/Sources).

Contextual Connected Customer 360 Profiles

Different functional groups have different data requirements, not all information is needed or even used by all of them. Reltio Connected Customer 360 helps create contextual profiles that are specific to the business role meeting their business objectives.

Business users may need to segment and view profiles locations on a map to investigate clusters of target audience. Using the map view on new search, data stewards can now visualize all the profiles as pins on the map. Highlighting the profile in the list or table view will highlight the respective pin. Similarly selecting the pin will show a quick view of the profile and highlight it on the list or table view.

While searching through profiles business users might need to preview profile details quickly, without leaving the search screen. Using a detailed profile view within the search results business users can now do that. Users can quickly see details like header, images, as well as simple & nested attributes, without opening the profile.

Reltio continues to enhance the new Search experience and in this release, we have added DTSS Tenant search and import. Users are also able to search within the DTSS tenant, select the profiles from the results and then import those profiles into Reltio. The new Search experience also offers an additional enhancement to download profiles from a table view which is not available using classic Search.

Troubleshooting capabilities of the Salesforce connector have been enhanced for administrators and configurators to monitor and debug integration between Salesforce and Reltio Connected Customer 360. Users now have the ability to preview how a record will appear when sent from Salesforce to Reltio Connected Customer 360 or vice versa without actually posting the record. This feature can be helpful in validating mappings, verifying data filtering, custom logic, and transformation functions. An improved and simplified debugging capability to search for request and response logs using the Salesforce Object ID or the Reltio Entity is also available now. Administrators can now view logs from the custom logic methods (if applicable) that can help in debugging issues related to custom logic.

Salesforce Connector Custom Logic

In the previous release, the Salesforce connector supported the bi-directional synchronization of relationships. This capability has now been enhanced for the Search Before Create function as well. Business users will now be able to import entities along with the relationships.

Fixes included with 2020.3 GA

Hub

  • We have modified the lookup logic to consider case insensitive terms while displaying the dashboard bars and bubble charts. This ensures that appropriate labels are displayed instead of the raw lookup values.
  • We have modified the tenant configuration script to ensure that it processes the square brackets of data label pattern for nested attributes correctly.
  • We have modified the display logic in the edit mode for the root node in the Hierarchy Management facet. This ensures that you can access all the relationship attributes while adding a parent to the root node, without having any issues in scrolling.
  • The configuration is updated to ensure that the images are always uploaded properly.
  • We have modified the parent and child lookup logics, to ensure that the Apply and Cancel buttons work as expected, when a relationship is edited in a Profile perspective.
  • We have modified the logic for 'hidden' attributes to ensure that the 'mandatory' flag is ignored. Now Hub allows you to save the updates to an entity with a hidden required attribute, without specifying a value for the hidden attribute.

Reltio Platform

  • If a body in the request to update the tenant business configuration was empty, a NullPointerException was reported. Now, if the request contains an empty body, the error code 150 (Failed to parse content as JSON) is reported.
  • When a crosswalk value for Ref Entity or Ref Relation was not a String value, a NullPointerException was reported. Now, the non-string values of a Ref Entity and Ref Relation crosswalks are converted to a String value to ensure that NullPointerException is not reported.
  • Adding crosswalks without checking the crosswalk limit led to issues such as object out of memory. The new crosswalks are added only if the crosswalk limit as configured in the tenant's physical configuration is not exceeded.
  • In a single request through a cumulative update, if you inserted sub-attribute values for two different Address reference attributes, the sub-attribute value was inserted only for one Address reference attribute. Now, through a cumulative update in a single request, sub-attribute values are inserted for both Address reference attributes.

Search

D&B Batch API calls were failing as default connection timeout was limited to one second only. We have increased the timeout to avoid connection failures going forward.

Workflow

For entities having relationship with start or/and end dates attributes, if a user makes an update without specifying start/end dates, the existing relationship is not updated. However, if a DCR was created as the result of update request, the DCR would implement the change along with removing existing start/end dates attributes. The DCRs are now updated to retain the start/end dates attributes during an update process.

Match IQ

External match export failed with an error. The problem occurred when there was a space in the external file column name that was used as an external identifier. Now, after applying safe formatting to the external identifier column name, the results can be exported even with a space in the external file column name.

Match

The event queue size was not reducing and led to thousands of messages getting stuck in the queue. The issue was with the database implementation. Now, messages stuck in the queue are processed successfully.
