Merging Potential Matches

You can merge potential matches or mark them when it not a match accordingly.

The Potential Matches tab displays the selected profile information on the top along with a table that lists entities that are a potential match. By default, only the active entities are displayed here.

To view potential matches for a profile:

  1. Navigate to a profile.

  2. Click on the Potential Matches icon to view the potential matches perspective.
Note: You can also navigate to the Potential Matches perspective by clicking See all in the Potential Matches facet. This facet displays a list of potential matches for the selected profile, which you can merge or mark not a match.

  3. By default, the Potential Matches tab is displayed with active entities that are potential matches for the profile.
Note: To view both the active and inactive entities, select the Include entities that have ended option from the More options menu.
  4. To include transitive matches in the list, select the Show transitive matches option. You can click the Show/Hide columns option to select/deselect columns that must be displayed in the table.

  5. Click on the arrow next to the match rule to view all the match rules that evaluated to true for this pair of records. Match rules and Match IQ are displayed for each entity.
  6. Click the Show/Hide columns icon.
  7. Select Match Score from the list. The Match Score column is added to the Potential Matches tab and the list of profiles is displayed in the descending order of the Match Score.

Reltio allows you to view and merge potential matches based on the Match Score of the potential matches. The Match Score helps you to select the profiles for merging. Based on the match rules, each potential match profile is given a score. A higher score indicates the potential match had a higher accuracy when matching a match rule or multiple match rules. For example, if the potential match satisfies four out of five match rules, it gets a higher score. When the Match Score is higher, higher is the probability of it to be a potential match for your profile.
Note: The Match Score of a potential match will have a value of more than 0 only if the standalone and incremental scores are configured for the match rules.
  8. To merge an entity with the profile, select Merge.

  9. Select Not a Match to mark as not a match and prevent future matches between the two records. Once a profile is marked as Not a match, it is removed from the table and can be viewed in the Not a match tab.

Note: You can also select multiple entities to merge or mark as not a match. When you select multiple entities, the Merge and Not a match options are available at the top of the table. On selecting any one of these options, the selected entities are either merged with the profile or marked as not a potential match for the profile and removed from the table.
  10. Select Add Relationship to indicate that the potential match is related to the profile.

  11. When you select this option, the following dialog is displayed:

    1. Click +More attributes to add any other attribute that is relevant to the relationship.
    2. Enter the details for all the attributes that are important for the relationship, for example, specify the Affiliation SubType either as Child to Parent (CHTP) or Parent to child (PATC). Enter the start and end dates for the relationship.
    3. You can add new attributes by clicking on Create Additional Attributes and specifying the attribute details like the name, type and value. You can also create an affiliation role, if needed. After specifying all the relationship details, click Add. A relationship of the selected type is created between the two entities and the pair is marked as Not a match. You can see the relationship details in the Relationships perspective.
  12. To make a detailed comparison of one or more entities before you decide to merge them or mark them as not a match, select the entities by clicking the checkbox next to them and select the Comparison view option available at the top of the table.
Note: If you select more than three entities, the Comparison View option will be disabled.
Details of the selected entities are displayed next to each other in columns. You can view the rules, actions, and other attribute details.

Click the Full screen option if you want to view the comparison view in full screen.

You can check all the attributes in this screen. You can expand or collapse attributes by clicking the arrow next to them and add new attributes by clicking the Show/Hide columns option. You can merge an entity by clicking Merge or Add relationship if the entity is related to the profile.
Note: If you go back and select another profile for comparison view, the most recently selected profile will be replaced with the new one.

Click Exit Full Screen to go back to the previous screen. Click the X button to completely exit from the Comparison View screen.
