Examples of Date Functions

Date functions are used in a data validation function.

Table 1. Date Functions
Function Description Sample
range The validation function checks that the attribute value is between the two static dates. If the validation is met then the appropriate validation message is displayed.
range(attributes.DoJ.value,'1980-01-01','2019-12-31')
equals The validation function checks that the attribute value matches the given static date exactly. If the validation is met then the appropriate validation message is displayed.
equals(attributes.DoJ.value,'2019-02-16')
gt The validation function checks that the attribute value is greater than the given static date. If the validation is met then the appropriate validation message is displayed.
gt(attributes.DoJ.value,'2019-01-01')
gte The validation function checks that the attribute value is greater than and equal to the given static date. If the validation is met then the appropriate validation message is displayed.
gte(attributes.DoJ.value,'2019-01-01')
lt The validation function checks that the attribute value is lesser than the given static date. If the validation is met then the appropriate validation message is displayed.
lt(attributes.DoJ.value,'2019-01-01')
lte The validation function checks that the attribute value is lesser than and equal to the given static date. If the validation is met then the appropriate validation message is displayed.
lte(attributes.DoJ.value,'2019-01-01')
exists The validation function checks that the given attribute value exists. If the validation is met then the appropriate validation message is displayed.
exists(attributes.DoJ.value)
missing The validation function checks that the given attribute value is missing. If the validation is met then the appropriate validation message is displayed.
missing(attributes.DoJ.value)
Note: The following are some limitations associated with the date functions:
  • System dates are not supported for comparison.
  • Comparison between two dynamic dates is not supported. The value to be compared must be static.
