D&B Match and Append Response Data

An organization's attributes that gets updated on successful completion of the D&B match and append process are Vendor Verification Status and Vendor Verification Date.

On successful completion of the D&B (Dun and Bradstreet) match and append process, the following attributes are updated by the D&B connector:

  • Vendor Verification Status is updated based on the response data received from D&B.

Table 1. Vendor Verification Status Based on D&B Match and Append Response Data
Vendor Verification Status is set to... If...
Enriched(ES) An organization's data is successfully enriched/appended with the latest D&B data.
Enrichment Error(EE) An error is encountered while processing an organization's append data request.
Low Confidence Score(MC) The confidence code of the found match is below the threshold value set in Low Confidence. In such a case, the organization's data is not appended with the latest D&B data.
    Note:
    • Confidence Code threshold is a configurable value. The default value is 7.

    • If the found match has the confidence code greater than or equal to 7, then the match is automatically used to update the organization's data.

    • If the found match has a confidence code less than 7, then the match is not used to update the organization's data. Additionally, Vendor Verification Status is set to Low Confidence Score. The D&B response file is archived so that it can be retrieved and reviewed.

URI Mismatch(MU) The selected organization's data is already available with DUNS number in the Reltio tenant.
  • Vendor Verification Date is set to the current date and time.

The response data returned by D&B include:

  • Organization's name

  • DUNS number that can further be used for the D&B recertification process.

  • Address of the D&B Global Ultimate, Domestic Ultimate and HQ (Head Quarter)/Parent companies.

  • Match metadata that describes the quality of the matched data and how the match has been made. For more information, see Account 360 Data Model.

  • Append data that is the actual data updated with the latest D&B data. For more information, see Account 360 Data Model.

  • Organization's D&B hierarchy by creating the shell organizations.

The response data returned by D&B includes the name, DUNS Number and address of the D&B Global Ultimate, Domestic Ultimate and HQ (Head Quarter)/Parent Companies. The D&B connector checks whether an organization with the DUNS number of the Global Ultimate, Domestic Ultimate or HQ/Parent Companies already exists. If it does, then the existing record is used. If it does not, then the connector creates a new organization with Vendor Organization Type = Shell to indicate the origin of the record. Shell records' crosswalks use the DUNS number for the ID and the D&B source.

Important:
  • For more details on how to handle address types and flags, see Handling of Addresses.

  • The match score (Confidence Code) threshold for each of these conditions is configurable.

  • D&B's Service Level Agreement (SLA) specifies 48 hours time for processing the data sent to D&B for match and append.
